Sustainability

Environment

We aim to be leading in reducing our climate impact.

More than 70% of our emissions are directly linked to transport by our inhouse fleet or contracted courier companies. Reducing these emissions is our key focus

within environmental sustainability - through efficiency improvements and change of fuel. In addition, we are also reducing emissions through putting solar panels on our terminals and by reusing and refurbishing our equipment such as sorting machines.

Fossil free vehicles

In four out of our six markets, our operations are contracted on fossil free fuels only - all the way from the pickup at the warehouse to the locker or home of the consumer! In total, 93% of our operations were renewable in 2024.

This is largely thanks to the use of renewable diesel, HVO100. In Sweden, our vehicles, as well as those of our sub-contractors, have been running on renewable diesel since 2020. HVO100 is produced of renewable raw materials instead of fossil oil, for example used cooking oil and animal fat waste. Renewable diesel emits ~10 times less greenhouse gas emissions per kilometre than regular diesel.

Electrification

We are expanding our electric operations to push the industry forward. Currently, 11% of our transport is fully electric. In Norway, for example, 60% of our last-mile home delivery distance is driven by electric vehicles. We are also collaborating with our courier partners to prepare for the electrification of linehaul, heavy vehicles.

Efficiency

We are always set on innovating to deliver more efficient operations—efficiency is a win-win for the planet and business. In general, our operations are inherently efficient, from delivering +80% of our volume to lockers. Locker deliveries reduce the number of individual stops couriers need to make which enables more efficient delivery, and do—in many cases—emit less emissions. Our proprietary route optimization software also ensures that we drive as few metres as possible and save the environment.

Circularity

Besides transport-related emissions, our investments into products such as lockers, cages, sorting machines, and laptops generate material greenhouse gas emissions from their production. We are actively working on applying circular practices to reduce these emissions, for example reusing components from disassembled sorting machines and buying refurbished laptops.

Examples of what we do

Electrification of home deliveries in Norway

Norway is already a leader in electric mobility, with one of the highest shares of electric vehicles in the world and a well-developed charging infrastructure. This gives us a strong foundation to make home deliveries cleaner and quieter.

In our Norwegian operations, home deliveries are driven by courier partners. Electrification of home deliveries therefore requires close collaboration with the value chain. This means supporting our existing partners in the transition to EVs — from providing guidance on charging options to helping integrate electric vans and cargo bikes into daily operations. Where needed, we also partner with couriers who already operate fully electric fleets.

Eco-driving - saving fuel, maintenance and creating fun competition

We believe eco-driving has big potential. By driving smarter, we can save fuel — a win for the planet and for costs. It’s also better for the vehicles, helping reduce wear, spare parts, and maintenance needs.

With sensors in the vehicles and a weekly “Eco-Driver of the Week” award, we’re adding a little fun at the terminals too. Nothing motivates like a good competition!

That’s why we’re now piloting eco-driving at one of our Swedish terminals, using sensors to track performance. If it’s successful, we aim to scale it across our network.
